Ben Grosz Presents "The Art of the Retainer Letter" at the D.C. Bar

IPB partner Ben Grosz presented "The Art of the Retainer Letter," for the D.C. Bar on May 19, along with the D.C. Bar's Legal Ethics Counsel Saul Singer, with Ellen Fishbein moderating.

The presentation covered basic questions such as whether and when a retainer letter is required, and which key elements should be included in the letter, as well as circumstances that may call for a disengagement letter. The presentation also covered related topics including fee dispute provisions and document retention. Panelists covered the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct for the District of Columbia, and illustrated best practices through anecdotal examples.
