Jodi Epstein Provides Regulatory Update at PLANSPONSOR Conferences

IPB partner Jodi Epstein spoke to audiences in Chicago, New York, and Boston last week, giving the Regulatory and Litigation Update at "Best of PLANSPONSOR's National Conference" in each city.

Jodi discussed recent Department of Labor proposed regulations regarding Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs) and a recent Department of Labor proposed exemption regarding automatic portability.  She also walked through the new proposed IRS regulations concerning hardship withdrawals and provided an overview of the recent favorable IRS private letter ruling issued to an employer that directs an employer contribution into its 401(k) plan to recognize employees’ student loan debt repayments.  Finally, Jodi reviewed the status of current legislative proposals, including noting what provisions have the best chance of enactment.
